Removing the Explosive Remnants of War

Removing the Explosive Remnants of War

The Russian invasion in 2022 has resulted in an unprecedented legacy for Ukraine with explosive remnants of war, on the contact line and in the rear and civilian areas. The use of mines, improvised explosive devices and the impact from Russian air launched weapons has led to an increase to scale up Ukraine expertise, providing training and support to the GoU. UN, European governments and other agencies seek to support what is an enormous undertaking. Russian aircraft that have been shot down, carrying live ordnance, clearing mine fields and IEDS left behind  in areas retaken by UAFs are all in need of expert resources to train and clear locations of ERW. The State Emergency Services of Ukraine leads on the non-combat areas on ERW clearance, the MoD the rest of the geography and the strategic focus on clearance. Juliet9 has through our team, access to EOD clearance expertise. We can train, advise and assist leaving local expertise to lead and continue the long term need to clear ERW. Any future reconstruction, whatever the scale, has to start with a physical ERW clearance. Before any land can be used to build upon, before construction can start, a detailed and time consuming process has to be deployed to be confident that the reconstruction can safely go ahead. Our access to local Ukraine communities, our international EOD experts are all able to support and work with local colleagues.
